## Built-in Microphones and Siri AI Integration

The new Apple TV 4K includes built-in microphones, enabling users to interact with Siri AI hands-free. This feature, introduced alongside a refreshed design, allows for natural language commands such as asking for recommendations or controlling media playback. According to Apple, the device also integrates with the Find My app on the remote, enhancing usability. The fourth-generation streaming box is powered by an A19 chip, first seen in last year’s iPhone 17, which supports Siri AI out of the box. Apple highlights that Siri AI can pull from personal context, using data from Apple Intelligence-capable iPhones to understand commands like “Play that show my friend texted me.” This capability sets the Apple TV 4K apart from competitors like Google’s TV Streamer and Amazon’s Fire TV, which also offer AI features but lack the same level of personal context integration.

## Surround Sound and HomePod Compatibility

The new fourth-gen Apple TV 4K introduces expanded surround-sound capabilities, allowing users to pair up to four compatible HomePod speakers for a more immersive audio experience. According to Apple, the device supports three configurations: four HomePod second-gens, four HomePod Mini 2s, or a combination of both. This is an increase from the previous limit of two HomePod speakers per Apple TV model. The feature is exclusive to the new Apple TV 4K, and Apple states that the speakers automatically calibrate with the device to understand their placement in the room and adjust audio levels accordingly. Compatible models include the HomePod second-gen and the newly announced HomePod Mini 2, which is available for $149\. The Apple TV 4K’s design and remote remain unchanged, but its expanded audio capabilities represent a significant upgrade for home theatre setups.

## Find My Feature on the Siri Remote

The new Apple TV 4K introduces a notable enhancement to its Siri Remote with the addition of the Find My feature. As noted by a speaker, users can now ask Siri, “Hey Siri, can you find the remote?” to locate it easily. For those who may not hear the remote’s response, the Find My app on an iPhone can be used to track its precise location. This capability is made possible by Apple’s integration of Bluetooth channel sounding, a location technology akin to ultra-wideband, though it does not require a UWB chip. This advancement reflects Apple’s ongoing efforts to improve user experience through innovative use of existing hardware and software capabilities.
